Army Branch Insignia

Army branch insignia first came into use 1858, for wear on a soldiers hat. Today, we wear branch insignias on Army Service Uniform coats. Enlisted personnel wear the insignia on the left coat collar with the U.S. insignia on the right, while most officers choose to wear U.S. insignias on both sides of the collar.
